Starting in 1993, whilst graduating from the BA (Hons) Photography course at Nottingham Trent University, and partly influenced by the convention in central Europe of putting photographs of the deceased on gravestones, I have explored the process of applying on-glaze transfers to ceramic bases.

topographia (Mask)

Finalised in 2017, and shown at an exhibition in Ajdovscina called 'Mask', the topographia variation started with the first three showing as part of 2014 Piran Extempore, and again in 2015.

Inspired by Schwitters and Rauchenberg, since the turn of the century I have been exploring this process

3D collage

From the early 1990s, the application of collage to 3D objects appealed to me. Also in using ceramics to realise concepts, a number of projects are naturally three dimensional.

The interest in photography has never left me, but I strive to use it in a way rooted in my belief that its strength lies in what it does to time (or what time does to it), and as a means to an end, rather than an end in itself
